About Missile Design
Chief Engineer Joe Robinson founded Missile Design in 2001 to create more cost-effective missiles, smart munitions, and UAVs than prime contractors and to solve previously unsolved problems.
Key Accomplishments
- Designed the only fully capable hypersonic defeat interceptor.
- Developed CorpsSam/MEADS, EAPS, MAST-M, NSM, and HF UAV.
- Contributed to BAT-P3I, KEI, Launch Vehicles, Targets, Tactical Missiles, Brilliant Munitions, Guided Bullets, and flying saucers.
- Played a role in most U.S. Army hit-to-kill missile developments and flight test programs.
- Operates on a "Hollywood Model"—only employing the best talent when needed for efficiency.
Innovations
- Invented and designed Surrogate, Recoverable Missiles, MAST-M, and NSM.
- Developed the G-sec Paradigm and Latency Equation.
- Designed missiles for Raytheon, Lockheed, NGC, Navy, MDA, DARPA, and AMRDEC.
Industry Leadership
- Follows the Skunk Works Development Paradigm.
- Delivers aerospace solutions under budget and ahead of schedule.
- Demonstrates that small, focused teams outperform large teams.
- Provides cost-saving innovations despite shrinking defense budgets.
- Advocates for recovery and surrogate missile technologies to reduce program costs and timelines.
- Responsible for the greatest air defense and missile design innovations of the past three decades.
